The use of time servers in control panels for instrumentation is recognized as a critical requirement for monitoring, controlling, and recording data. These systems require precise coordination between the data from DCS, RTUs, and PLCs, and must process the information received from sensors and actuators within a unified time framework. The importance of this coordination becomes particularly evident in real-time systems with millisecond and even microsecond accuracies, as well as in integration with protective systems such as relays. Additionally, the review of historical data, reduction of human errors, and increased system stability are other essential reasons for the necessity of this subject. In this regard, redundancy protocols and IRIG-B are considered to enhance the reliability and dependability of the systems.
